John Denver is a popular artist and musician who has touched many people by his lyrics. Many of these have roots in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. grew up in Roswell New Mexico. However, he fell in love Colorado. He eventually made his way to Aspen. Denver's national anthems to his adopted state have attracted many people to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the director of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there is another performer that embodies Colorado as John Denver." Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever inductee. Many consider Denver to be the Colorado image. When you encounter people from other nations, for instance New Zealanders and say "I come originally from Colorado" and they reply with "Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads is the only Denver Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist after working within small Folk Music groups. The song was composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff was credited with Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the song, but Denver recognized that the song could be a huge hit after it was discovered that an earlier version. The song was recorded by the singer just a few days later when he performed it in front of the awe-inspiring crowd on the streets of Washington D.C.
